JOB: Assistant Professor, Sport Management

TOWSON UNIVERSITY
Department of Kinesiology

POSITION: Two positions: Assistant Professor, Sport Management

DUTIES: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, instruction in the Sport Management program and supervision of Sport Management interns. The successful candidate will be asked to teach in some of the following areas for major students: the business, economic, political/legal, and cultural aspects of the sports industry. Substantial involvement in scholarly activities and service activities is expected.

QUALIFICATIONS: Doctoral degree in an area appropriate to the discipline. Evidence of successful teaching in higher education and at least two years of experience working in areas related to the sports industry.

RANK & SALARY: Tenure Track Assistant Professor; salary commensurate with qualifications. One of the two positions is contingent on final funding approval. Candidates who are ABD may be considered at instructor rank; completion of doctoral degree required by February 2007.

The Department of Kinesiology has approximately 750 undergraduate majors in Physical Education Teacher Education, Athletic Training, Sport Management, Sport Studies, and Exercise Science.
