CONFERENCE: 3S International Conference on Social Science in Sport and 8th ISHPES Seminar on

3S International Conference on Social Science in Sport and 8th ISHPES Seminar on
Sport, Nation and Nationalism form 24 - 27 August will take place in Ljubljana
(http://www.ljubljana.si/en).

More than 80 participants from all over the world have already registered.

Keynote speakers will be dr. Patricia Vertinsky, dr. Hennich Eichberg and dr.
Tomaž Pavlin.

On Thurstday a Panel on 'Sport and national identities in the UK' will be held
by dr. Alan Bairner, Dominic Malcolm and John Kelly.

On Friday the second Panel on 'Sport, National Identity And The Laws Of The
European Union’ will be held by dr. David McArdle, dr. Jack Anderson, Mr.
Robert Branco Martins, dr. Richard Parrish and dr. Mark James.

Post-programme: Sunday, 27 August, 2006

Participants can register for excursion on Sunday 27th of August. We will take a
trip to the mountain area (National Park: http://www.tnp.si/). The trip will
last all day. We will start at around 9 o'clock in a.m. from Ljubljana and will
visit National park (around 1 hour walk in one direction), have some light meal
there; than we will visit Bled Castle, lake, island and have late lunch in that
area. We would like to introduce you to our national gastronomy. We will return
to Ljubljana foreseen around 8 p.m. that day. Detailed information will soon be
available on our web site.
