Nestled in the heart of Alberta, RDC offers quality educational programming in a genuine College atmosphere. The Division of Science, Health, Sport & Education is one of the six divisions at Red Deer College, it has 229 faculty and staff and a budget of over $9 million. The Division of Science, Health, Sport & Education offers university transfer, diploma and certificate programs as well as degree completion programs in Nursing and Education. Red Deer College is pursuing degree-granting status in several program areas.

Reporting to the Executive Vice President Academic, the Dean, Science, Health, Sport & Education contributes to strategic leadership of the Academic Division and provides leadership to specific College departments within the division including support and mentorship to chairs, faculty, and staff in their personal/professional development and performance. The Dean works with the Executive Vice President Academic, other senior administrators, chairs and department staff to establish and implement College and Academic Strategic Plans and divisional goals and objectives to ensure that an effective learning environment is maintained.

Already a key contributor to Central Alberta's economic and social growth, RDC has some big plans on the horizon including program renewal, new program development and innovation. The College is engaged in a $75-$100 million facility expansion and renovation over the next 3-5 years, doubling the size of the apprenticeship program, creating new health education programs, and pursuing degree-granting status. All of these activities are designed to enhance RDC's position in Alberta's competitive post-secondary environment.

The ideal candidate will have a solid reputation as an educator and scholar in a post-secondary environment with College and University levels of programming, including proven experience in a senior leadership role and classroom experience.
