JOB:Sports Administration: Wichita State University College of Education

Sports Administration: Wichita State University College of Education is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Assistant Professor of Sport Administration beginning in spring 2006. This is a tenure-track position within the Department of Kinesiology and Sport Studies. WSU is a Doctoral/Research University-Intensive institution with over 14,000 students and is one of three doctoral granting state universities in Kansas. The successful candidate will teach courses in the area of sport administration, supervise students conducting internships, conduct research in the area of sport administration and address other sport administration-related areas of responsibility. Requirements include: (1) Earned doctorate in sport administration, business, sociology, or education by the time of employment. (Individuals who are ABD at time of appointment will be considered for instructor rank.); (2) Evidence of effective teaching and/or the potential for effective teaching in sport administration; (3) Evidence of scholarly activity and/or future scholarship potential in sport administration; (4) Specialization through professional experience and/or previous instructional/scholarly activity in two or more of the following areas: sport management, sport finance, sport event management, sport facility management, sport governance, sport law, sport marketing, sport sociology to qualify the candidate to teach undergraduate and graduate courses; (5) Demonstrated commitment to cultural diversity; (6) Evidence of successful experience with diverse populations; (7) Demonstrated commitment to professional preparation in practical settings; (8) Evidence of excellent written and oral communication skills; and (9) Evidence of familiarity with NASPE-NASSM sport management program standards.
