JOB: Assistant or Associate Professor in the Sociology Department

Sociology: The College of Natural and Behavioral Sciences at California State University, Dominguez Hills, seeks candidates for appointment to a full-time tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor in the Sociology Department. With a focus on the Sociology of Sports, areas of teaching interest may include: quantitative research methods; sociology of family, social psychology; and social organization.

Areas of research interest may include: sports and the community; social inequality and sports; race/class/gender and sports. Duties include teaching; engaging in research; providing service; and developing research and community programs with the Home Depot Center and National Sports Training Center. Candidates must have an earned Ph.D. and relevant teaching and research experience. Special consideration for candidates with scholarship relevant to the diverse communities of the greater Los Angeles area.

Anticipated starting date for this position is the beginning of the Spring 2006 semester in late January 2006.
