JOB: Professor of Sport and Fitness Management

The Health, Physical Education, and Athletic department at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside invites applications for a full-time tenure track assistant professor of Sport and Fitness Management for the academic year 2006-2007.

Required Qualifications:

A Ph.D., Ed.D., or equivalent degree by the time of appointment. ABD with nearly completed dissertation will be considered for a one-year terminal appointment as a lecturer, with conversion to tenure track Assistant Professor, provided all requirements for the degree are completed by January 1, 2007. Required: Expertise in Sport Management and ability to teach Sport and Fitness Marketing, Sport Business and Finance and Introduction to Sport and Fitness Management; demonstrated promise as a scholar.

Preferences:

Prior teaching experience. Primary area of specialty in the business, finance and marketing aspects of sport management. Secondary area of specialty in sport and society and/or ethics in sport. Experience advising students and overseeing fieldwork/internship placement. Experience in a sport related industry.

Responsibilities:

Primary responsibilities include: teaching Sport and Fitness Marketing, Sport Business and Finance, and Introduction to Sport and Fitness Management, research and publication, academic advising, supervising fieldwork/internship placements, and participation in departmental/campus/community/professional service.
