DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Faculty and students are seeking a person with energy, vision and leadership skills to be responsible for all aspects of undergraduate programs in physical education and recreation in the School of education and Behavioral Sciences. Long and short range plans will be integral to the success of the work of the chairperson. This position requires teamwork and constant communication in an effort to build a strong undergraduate program.
QUALIFICATIONS: Required: Doctorate Degree in Health and Physical Education. 1.) Record of Scholarship commensurate with appointment as Associate Professor; 2.) Possess or be eligible for an Oklahoma Teaching Certificate or possess a teaching certificate from another state; 3.) Possess experience as a department chair or other leadership positions; 4.) Possess at least three (3) years of teaching experience on the college or public school level. Experience Required: The school of Education and Behavioral Sciences is seeking an experienced administrator who demonstrates excellent leadership skills and is willing to meet the challenges of a growing Department of Health, Physical Education and Recreation. The ideal candidate will have a vision of what a quality department represents along with strong communication, fiscal and organizational management skills combined with prior administrative experience. Experience Desired: 1.) A clear record of improving student achievement; 2.) Success at providing effective student achievement; 3.) Success at providing effective curriculum leadership; 4.) Knowledge and experience in applying current educational research and practices; 5.) Demonstrates experience and success in fostering diversity and equity.
