JOB: University of Ulster, Social Science of Sport

The University has embarked upon a renewed commitment to the development of sport with an expansion in opportunities to study sport and the development of an £11m state-of-the-art Performance Centre. As part of this commitment we wish to make the following academic appointment:
Lecturer in Social Science of Sport Ref: C04/831/W

The postholder will be required to develop, promote and facilitate the delivery of modules in the politics of sport, the history of sport and research methods of sport as appropriate at undergraduate and postgraduate level and to contribute to qualitative research methods.

Applicants must hold a first or second class honours degree or higher degree or equivalent in sport studies, sports science or closely related area and have at least three years experience in the field of social science of sport e.g. politics of sport/history of sport/sociology of sport.

Appointment to the post is effective from 1 September 2005. The post is based at the Jordanstown campus.
Salary: £23,643 - £35,883
Closing date: 24 June 2005
Interview date: 2 and 3 August 2005
