JOB: Department of Sociology at California State University, Dominguez Hills

The Department of Sociology at California State University, Dominguez Hills
invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professorship focused on the
Sociology of Sports. We especially encourage applications from candidates who
have conducted research in one or more of the following areas in relation to (1)
Sports and the community. (2) Social inequality and sports (3) Race/class/gender
and sports. The faculty hired for this position will have the opportunity to
develop research and community programs with the Home Depot National Training
Center, a state of the art facility located on the campus of CSUDH and designed
for training Olympic athletes. Additionally, we seek candidates who are
interested in teaching in one or more of the following areas: quantitative
research methods, sociology of family, social psychology, and social
organization.

special consideration will be given to candidates whose scholarship is relevant
to the diverse communities of the greater Los Angeles area and who have
experience working with community organizations.
