SUPERVISOR: Dr. Joseph Weir, Department Chair
DUTIES:
• Teach and evaluate students in the undergraduate and graduate degree programs in sport management in at least four of these areas: sport facilities and event management; sport finance; sport law; sport marketing; sport sociology
• Pursue a focused line of research inquiry in some aspect of sport management
• Seek external funding as appropriate to support research activities and interests
• Direct student research including projects, theses, and dissertations
• Advise and mentor undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral degree students
• Contribute to the service mission of the department, School of Education, and university
• Serve as colleague in the Department of Health, Sport, and Exercise Sciences
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Earned doctorate in sport management or its equivalent in a related field
• Demonstrated record of teaching excellence
• Evidence through publications of scholarly ability and potential
• Excellence in written and oral communication skills
• Respect for and ability to work with diverse populations
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Ability to use technology to enhance student learning
