The College of Education invites applications for Department Head. This is a twelve-month, tenure track faculty appointment at the rank of Associate or Full Professor beginning July 1, 2006.

The department head (1) provides departmental leadership for programs involving teacher certification in health and physical education, exercise physiology and athletic training at the B.S.Ed. level and in health and physical education at the M.Ed. level, (2) plans and implements program changes at both undergraduate and graduate levels that integrate current educational reform efforts and reflect state and national professional standards, (3) collaborate with partner schools to provide staff development and field experience sites for students in the department, (4) promotes scholarly activities within department, (5) teaches, advises students, and engages in scholarly activity, (6) coordinates curriculum and departmental efforts across all departmental programs and (7) promotes generation of external funding.

Required qualifications include a doctorate in Physical Education and Health or related field, as well as, three years experience in public schools and college teaching experience. Candidates should also provide evidence of recent scholarly and service activity.
