The Antelope Valley College Community College District invites applications for the position of

Director of Physical Education & Athletics

Antelope Valley College is a dynamic and growing institution serving more than 13,000 students. The college is located in the heart of the Antelope Valley, located east of Southern California's Angeles National Forest. Minimum Qualifications
* Master's degree
* One year of formal training, internship or leadership reasonably related to the administrative assignment
* Sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of community college students

Desirable Qualifications
* a master's degree in physical education, exercise science, education with an emphasis in physical education, kinesiology, physiology or exercise or adaptive physical education or a bachelor's degree in any of the above and a master's degree in any life science, dance, physiology, health education, recreation administration or physical therapy
* Three years of teaching experience at a postsecondary institution
* Three years of coaching experience at the collegiate level

Salary: $86,502 - 93,112 (based on a 5-step schedule as well as an annual doctoral stipend of $1800.00)
