CFP: Sport in History Special Issue

We would like to invite contributions for a special issue of Sport in History looking at the state of academic sports history. This special issue of the journal aims to reflect on knowledge and methodology in sports history, while increasing communication and interaction between the different sports history communities across the globe.

Articles should typically be between 4,000 and 8,000 words and should focus on an issue such as:

· methodology in sports history
· an overview of the state of research/knowledge in sports history in a specific region, nation or continent
· teaching sports history
· relationships between sports history, mainstream history and other disciplines

All contributions will be peer-reviewed and should be submitted by 1 April 2006. Publication will be in late 2006 or early 2007.

Sport in History is the journal of the British Society of Sports History and is published three times a year by Taylor & Francis, one of the leading international producers of academic journals.
