JOB: Assistant professor + associate/full professor in the philosophy of sport - University of Southern California

The University of Southern California Mrs. T. H. Chan Division of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy at the Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry invites applications for a full-time tenured position in the philosophy of sport at the rank of assistant, associate, or full professor.
Assistant Professor Rank
The USC Mrs. T. H. Chan Division of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy at the Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position in the philosophy of sport at the rank of assistant professor. We are looking for a candidate who shows exceptional teaching and research promise. The Division offers opportunity for research and teaching, and prides itself on its research record and teaching excellence. Priority will be given to candidates who can make significant contributions to the research and teaching mission of the Division.
Qualifications include a completed PhD in Philosophy, Sport Studies, or a related field with a major emphasis in the philosophy of sport. Exemplary teaching and superior scholarship are the major expectations of the position. Primary teaching responsibilities include teaching courses in sport ethics and developing new courses in the philosophy of sport to upper division undergraduate students in the occupational science minor and sport minor in the School of Communication as well as undergraduate students across the university. Successful candidates will also contribute to the Social, Ethical, Political and Philosophy Foundations Research Core of the PhD program in Occupational Science.

Associate/Full Professor
We are looking for a candidate who has a superb teaching record and is an accomplished scholar with a strong record of publications. The Division offers opportunity for research and teaching, and prides itself on its research record and teaching excellence. Priority will be given to candidates who can demonstrate that they are the top in their field and can make significant contributions to the research and teaching mission of the Division.
Qualifications include a PhD in Philosophy, Sport Studies, or a related field with a major emphasis in the philosophy of sport and a focused, sustained, and excellent record of scholarship in the philosophy of sport. Evidence of exemplary teaching and superior scholarship is expected. Primary teaching responsibilities include teaching courses in sport ethics and developing new courses in the philosophy of sport to upper division undergraduate students in the occupational science minor and sport minor in the School of Communication as well as undergraduate students across the university. Successful candidates will also contribute to the Social, Ethical, Political and Philosophy Foundations Research Core of the PhD program in Occupational Science.
