The Department for Health is seeking to appoint a full-time Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Physical Education, who is a scholar with a strong record of publications and either a track-record or clear strategy to attract research funding. The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate teaching excellence, appropriate to the level of appointment.
We are seeking a dynamic, adaptable colleague who will work with us to ensure the continuing strength of the Department in both research and teaching. You will be expected to maintain and develop your own programme of research, be successful in seeking external funding, and contribute to teaching and research supervision on relevant programmes. It is expected that your scholarly activities will complement and further enhance existing research foci in and further develop links between the Department for Health and the Department of Sports Development and Recreation, as well as the local community and schools.
While applications are welcomed from all areas relevant to physical education and from any disciplinary background, we are particularly interested in those whose scholarship fosters interdisciplinarity and focuses on: Coaching Science; Sports Pedagogy and Inequalities; Sport and Physical Activity Across the Lifespan; Health Technology and/or; Physical Education. It would be an advantage if you can demonstrate an affinity between your own research programme and existing Departmental and Faculty research themes.
