POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT FOR
VISITING INSTRUCTOR/ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF SPORTS STUDIES
Position: Visiting Instructor/Visiting Assistant Professor
Description: The Department of Physical Education, Health and Sport Studies at Miami University is seeking applicants for a 9 month visiting instructor/visiting assistant professor to teach in the Sport Studies program.
Required Qualifications: Ability to teach courses in the socio-cultural aspects of sport. Expertise in gender, race, and class relations in sport. Ph.D. in Sport Sociology or closely related area; ABD’s will be considered.
Desired Qualifications: Knowledge or background in leisure or sociology of leisure/ or the sociology of the body.
Responsibilities: Teach courses in the socio-cultural aspects of sport; advise undergraduate students in Sport Studies major; and other duties as assigned by the Department Chairperson.
